No sound on AM1808 Experimenter's Kit

The SDK is 4.0.1.0. 

I tried rebuilding the kernel with the configuration shown in the link above and it didn't fix the problem.

I found that if I erased the uBoot environment variables from the SPI flash, the board would then recognize the codec.  So, there's something in the environment that the SDK setup script created that breaks the codec interface.

When you erased the environment variables, which uImage did the board boot with? Generally, Out of box booting will fetch the Linux image from SD card and the kernel image present on SD card may not have Audio enabled.

The SD card is not installed.  I've got the board set up for booting from a NFS share. 

I will try to determine which image the board is grabbing.

The board was booting a kernel from the SPI Flash. 

I extracted the kernel configuration from that kernel and compared it to the one from the SDK.  There are quite a few differences including wlan and BT support.

I did some experimenting and I've narrowed the problem down to the item CONFIG_WIFI_CONTROL_FUNC under DaVinci Board Type.  If it is set, then the audo codec is not recognized.
