I am using the LogicPD AM3517 Experimenter board - trying to connect to it's Ethernet port from CCSv5 (Version: 5.0.1.201012231000) on Ubuntu Linux 10.04.
I installed Remote System Explorer in CCSv5 but no dialog came up regarding security file like the example.
Can connect to AM3517 Experimenter serial port and log on @ 115k.
Can ping to AM3517 Experimenter Ethernet Port
I am using the version of Linux installed and shipped on the LogicPD AM3517 Experimenter board. Is it possible that this version does not have ssh or other utilities installed?
The error reported is "Connected Refused" when RSE is used or ssh is used in a shell terminal.
Meg:
RSE requires SSH support in the target file system. Not sure what software is provided by LogicPD.
AM3517 SDK and CCSv5 with RSE pre-installed is available here:

So how can I get the above downloaded and installed on the AM3517 Experimenter???
I see that the AM3517 EVM appears to have an SD card with the above pre-installed - is this correct?
I have the Experimenter which has no SD card so how to do I get the recommended TI installation
1) Downloaded to ram - via serial? What tools?
2) Flashed - What tools?
Meg:
The AM3517 experimenter is an AM3517EVM kit without the Application Board.
It has one SDCard slot. So you are saying that you do not have a populated
SDCard?
Logic PD docs refer to the same AM3517 SDK v4.0.1.0 from ti.com.
SDK SW Dev Guide is here:
http://processors.wiki.ti.com/index.php/AM37x_EVM_Software_Developer%27s_Guide
You would need to have a Linux host PC, or a virtual Linux machine on Windows
as described in the SW Dev Guide.
Here is how to make your own SDCard:
http://processors.wiki.ti.com/index.php/How_to_Make_3_Partition_SD_Card
For programming NAND flash see Flash Tool user guide (in SW DEv Guide).

Michael -
I do have Ubuntu 10.04 set up.
The Experimenter did not come with an SD card but there is a slot and I will look at your suggestion on how to make one.
Thanks
