C6747 Champs,

Can you confirm if customers using the TMS320C6747 need to program MAC address into the device at production time or do the devices come pre-programmed with a unique MAC address?

Is there an OTP area for MAC address or is it a flashable area?

Where can I find this information?

    Yes it must be programmed as part of the initialization sequence. This is an MMR that loses its contents after power is removed and is not a flashable area. This is from the EMAC User's Guide:

    5. Setup the local Ethernet MAC address by programming the MAC index register (MACINDEX), MAC
    address high bytes register (MACADDRHI), and MAC address low bytes register (MACADDRLO). Be
    sure to program all eight MAC address registers - whether the receive channel is to be enabled or not.
    Duplicate the same MAC address across all unused channels. When using more than one receive
    channel, start with channel 0 and progress upwards.
