AM6442: IRT stable stack release from KUNBUS with Profinet certification on TMDS64GPEVM.

In current SDK for AM64xx series ( mcu_plus_sdk_am64x_08_04_00_17), Ti confirmed on transition of Profinet IRT stack from the Kunbus stack.

Which is really impacted delivery product as we developed application logic around original Kubus API.

Can you give insights on following inputs for making transition to the new stack in Application.This will be really helpful.

  • In current SDK, Profinet example not given with new stack. when it will be available.
  • New stack commitment for TI : RT - end of 2022 & IRT Q2 -2023. Is there will be Pre-releases on RT/IRT stack for evaluation.If yes please confirm dates.
  • Can you give us API documentation for new stack for evaluation purpose.

    The PROFINET example will be available when the new stack is available at the end of the year.

    There are no pre-releases of the new PROFINET stack planned.

    An API migration guide is planned for November.

    Hi Mike,

    Thanks for prompt reply. Can you give some insights how much current Profinet Device (Kunbus) API differ from new stack (Siemens)? Sorry for being impatient here. We are launching product at February at list with RT support. So need to make estimation on rework.
