TDA4VM: Display Sub-system with multiple screens

May be, you could use newer serializers, which supports merged input, and can split the input image into multiple outputs.

But even we have the serializer can support merged input, it will occupy 2 video pipes in TDA4. Right?

But in this case, you would have to merge two frames in memory and feed it to one of the pipeline.

If I merge two frames in memory first and then feed it to one of the pipeline, I wonder if the serializer can recognize that and split it into two? 

I think serialzier does not care if the frame is merged in memory or in overlay manager, as long as it gets the complete frame, it can split the frame and send it over two outputs. Again this is possible only if serializer supports this feature. 

Brijesh, do you have any document/wiki show how the frame merged in overlay manager, so we can try to replicate that kind of process in memory.

but i think since you require 5 displays, overlay manager is not an option. You need to create merged frame in the display and then send it via display path..
