TMS320C6657: Unused pin handling

Part Number: TMS320C6657

Hi,

My customer is looking for information how to handle unused pins.
He refers to below document (Hardware design guide for Keystone I devices), but McBSP, Timer, uPP are missing.
https://www.ti.com/jp/lit/an/sprabi2d/sprabi2d.pdf?ts=1666162411190&ref_url=https%253A%252F%252Fwww.ti.com%252Fproduct%252Fja-jp%252FTMS320C6657%253FkeyMatch%253DTMS320C6657%2526tisearch%253Dsearch-everything%2526usecase%253DGPN

Q1) I think Timer and uPP signals are muxed with GPIO and EMIF16 pins, so these sections should be referred.
Correct?

Q2) Could you tell me how to handle unused McBSP signals?

Thanks and regards,
Koichiro Tashiro

  • Hello,

Q1: Correct ... for pins that are muxed with GPIO and EMIF16 you can follow the recommendations for those peripherals.

Q2: McBSP pins have internal pull-downs, so can safely be left unconnected if not used.

    Regards,

    Kyle
