the differnce between C6-Integra 816x and DM816x

What are the differnce between C6-Integra 816x and DM816x?

Thank you!

  • C6A816X does not have any Video Co-processors(video decoding, encoding, transcoding) and has faster ARM/DSP Frequency in comparson with DM816X.

But in TMS320C6A816x C6-Integra DSP+ARM Processors Technical Reference Manual  ,the file can be read as following:

it is the same as TMS320DM816x DaVinci Digital Media Processors Technical Reference Manual.

In the file of C6A816x,there is also about MPEG register field. So I think C6A816x also have video co-processor.

    Do I get the point?

Would you explain about video co-processor in details?

  • Zhao,

This extract from the spec is for the Video Processing Sub-System (VPSS). This handles the capture and display of video signals. This module is common to AM389x, C6A816x and DM816x parts.

The Video Co-processor (HD-VICP2) is responsible for the encode/decode/transcode of video. It is only found on DM816x devices.

  • I read the datasheets again,now,I see.

    Thank you very much!

    Wish you happy!
