What is the Latency of TI's H.264 Encoder ？

Hi ！

Could someone tell me the Latency of TI's H.264 Encoder on DM6467T(1GHz) when encoding D1 frames ?

I'm afraid that maybe I had to change my dm6467(-594MHz) to DM6467T(1GHz), Could someone give me some tips ?

Hi Jun,

The latency of the H264 encoder on DM6467 will be the time taken to encode one frame or for 30 frames in real time applications and is mentioned as below for 594Mhz device,

MCPS with non blocking DSP (only DSP cycles) for D1 (720x480) @30fps is - 124 and latency/ time taken for 30fps will be - 0.000008 msec.

MCPS with blocking DSP ( idle time of the DSP is also take into account) for D1 (720x480) @30fps is - 179 and latency/ time taken for 30fps will be - 0.0000056 msec.

Based on this you can plan your device selection.
