AM5728: SGX544’s initialization failed

Part Number: AM5728

Hi Team,

I connected the controller AM5728 to the screen through the HDMI interface, but there was something wrong with the screen as shown in the first picture. The circuit diagram is shown in the following picture, and I noticed that the SGX544 had been in the initialization state through the serial port until the initialization failed. Could you please tell what might have caused such a problem? Thanks.

Besides, this is the tested HDMI signal waveform. There are no differences in the waveforms before and after the inductance.

Best regards,

Katherine

  • The screen can show text files, but errors appear when the screen shows image files. The errors are as follows. Could you please tell me what might have caused this?

  • Could you please follow up on my question? Thanks.

  • And there's also a problem when the device is displaying pictures. The picture can't be displayed well, and I have no idea what has caused this.

  • Hello,

Are you seeing any issues without the HDMI display, aka, with any other display?

One thing to note is that we do not have anymore support for SGX GPU driver issues. But let us see if it is the GPU driver causing this, or if the driver crash is a symptom of another issue.

    Regards,

    Erick

  • Hello,

There're no issues without the HDMI display, aka, with any other display. If the serial port detection program is used and it’s not under the image displaying mode, there will be no problems. If it is connected to the screen to display texts, there will be no problems, but there will be problems when displaying images.

    Regards,

    Katherine

  • Hello Katherine,

You shared a circuit diagram. Is this a custom board? Or a TI EVM?

    Regards,

    Erick

  • Hello Erick,

The board was drawn by me. Is there a problem with the wiring? Could you please tell me problems with which part of the wires could have caused this?

    Regards,

    Katherine

  • Katherine,

I've requested our HW team to do a quick review of the schematic you shared.

Meanwhile, the fact that text shows up on your screen indicates that it should be working.

Can you share the complete boot logs with the failure log?

    Regards,

    Erick
