To answer your question as far as I know there ubl and u-boot in SPI flash that should show up when connect your host platform to the device using UART so I am not sure why you may be facing the issue. Can you connect the SD card to your linux host platform and see if you see the filesystem and boot files on the SD card?

Are you sure that something is actually in the SPI flash?  Are you trying to do SPI boot or UART boot?  Are the boot switches configured accordingly?

PS.  I forgot to mention that for boot issues you should run this gel file after the failed boot attempt:

Copy/paste the output of the console window into a text file and attach to a reply here in the forum.

Hi Peter Mathew,

They might have flashed UBL on SPI Flash and the UBL might be loading UBOOT by reading from the SD Card.

OMAP-L138 doesn't support a complete SD based Boot as supported by the OMAP3530.

Can you try to insert the SD Card if Logic PD has shipped any.

Otherwise the best way is flash the pre built UBL and UBOOT binaries to to SPI Flash.

If you still ahve problems please post the procedure you have followed, binaries you have used for flashing and Failed boot log.

The TI forum can look at it.
