TDA4VM: TDA4VM REFCLK

Part Number: TDA4VM

Hi Team,

Currently, our project uses DSI, CSI, USB HS and SS as well as DP port, but PCIE is not used. Can REFCLK use the internal reference clock?

Besides, what are the limitations if SerDes uses the internal reference clock?

Best regards,

Katherine

  • Hi Katherine,

CSI and DSI use DPHY RX and DPHY TX.  Internal reference clocks are used for both of these interfaces.

On TDA4VM, USB3 runs on the 2L SerDes.  The internal reference clock should be used.

DP runs on the 4L SerDes.  The internal reference clock should be used.

The External reference clock is available for PCIe; however, internal reference clocks are normally used for all SerDes.

    Regards,
    Robert
