IP Cam

I'm trying to build an IP cam with the DM365, I had posted in the other forum but no response, anyone know of any design guides?

  • HI,

You can order a reference design kit from http://www.appropho.com/NewWeb/Main.php .

This currently has DM36x based IPNC kit which contains required software+hardware package.

Please select the RDK based on the sensor you need.

Kindly contact TI sales for further details on it.

    Regards,

    Raghu

  • well thats not open source, is it montavista the only company in the world who accomplish the IP camera software for the TI chip?

  • Yes, it is based on MonVista Linux release (2.6.18 kernel).

Can you let us know what exactly you are looking for?

I suggest that you look at the IPNC RDK and have a review of the features.

    Regards,

    Raghu

  • Well, I have the DM365 develoment board and the MT9P031 5MP sensor, and I want to see the image from the sensor on the web browser using open source.

    Regards,

    Andre

  • Well, you can order on IPNC RDK kit which actually does your requirement and contains complete package.

Also, by chaging compiler switch in the code, you ca run this in EVM + Sensor board.

Howver, we are planning for a open source community kernel update of this IPNC code in 3Q11, you can update to this version when this will be available.

You can start off now by using IPNC RDK release.

    Hope this works for you.

Let us know in case you have issues here.

    Regards,

    Raghu

  • thanks but I'm scare that the DM365 would die like the DM355, it been out I think since 2007, and there no open source solution and the chip is now replace by newer chips, I will spend a little more time on it , then just move to a chip that they would have more support for it, thanks,.

  • What is the usecase you want to run in your IPNC app?

DM36x RDK has many usecase that run on DM36x platform, you can review it and check if it meets your requriement.

BTW, DM36x was released in 2009. Almost most of the requirments are addressed here in this RDK.

Hoever, if the requirement is for 1080p@60fps, then suggest moving to new chip DM8127.

    Regards,
