TIDEP-0099: C6747 development environment and required hardware

I am a C/C++ programmer new to DSP programming. My company just started a project to develop active noise control systems for a client. We have decided to use boards based on the TMS320C6747. With dead line looming, I need to put together a development environment and start to write some code quickly. I have installed Code Composer Studio 5.5, which has a TI simulator. But from the web, I gather that I need to install EDMA3-LLD and BIOSPSP_01_30_00_05. I have the following questions:

  1. Are EDMA3-LLD, BIOSPSP_01_30_00_05 and Code Composer Studio 5.5 + simulator all the software development tools I need?
  2. What about the XDS emulator? How does it work with the IDE?
  3. Do I need the actual board itself to work with the emulator and IDE for development purpose? Or can I just use the TI simulator with the XDS emulator?
  4. How do I simulate the incoming sound signals from the microphones on the TI simulator?

Resources on web are scant on TI DSP programming. I am a newbie with a deadline. Any help much appreciated. Many Thanks.
