About CCS IDE update issue for C6474

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TMS320C6474, CCSTUDIO

Dear all:

I want to simulate TMS320C6474 DSP with CCS v3.3, and it requires to update the CCS V3.3 to support this DSP, so I download the SR12_CCS_v3.3_SR_3.3.82.13.exe from my.TI. But when running the update package, following warning is given:

Warning
---------------------------
Setup has not found any valid products to update.
Your system may already be up-to-date or you are
attempting to install a serial update out of sequence.

Setup will now abort.

When I press the OK button, the update aborts! The same situation still exists for other SR package such as SR2 and SR10.

I search for the answers for this problem, and uninstall the original CCS v3.3 and re-intall the CCS v3.3 and this time I can install the update, but another problem exists, when I use C6474 simulator to run the program, the time I start CCS, a file named 'emif.log' is created under the Disk C:\, which is my OS disk. And the file is written when running the CCS
program, in one or two miniutes, the emif.log is as much as 2GB large.

So I uninstall the CCS and clean the registry as the FAQ listed in
http://tiexpressdsp.com/wiki/index.php?title=CCStudio_FAQ
1.1.34 Q: When upgrading to newer versions of Code Composer Studio, how do I clean the Windows Registry?
. But when I install CCS v3.3 again, this time I can't install the update package. This problem remains when I uninstall and re-install the CCS v3.3! Would u pls give an instuction on how to update the CCS? This problem troubles me much!
Thanks for your reply!

Best Regards
