TMSID572x - Cannot open .cfg file using XGCONF in CCS 11.2

Hello,

I am using CCS11.2 for a TI RTOS based project. When I try to open the .cfg file of the project using XGCONF, the file doesn't open and CCS hangs. Restarting CCS is the only option.

However, when I open the .cfg file just by double clicking on it, it opens the script format of the file.

What could be the reason the .cfg file does not open as XGCONF file?

Note- I am able to build and run my project, just not able to open the .cfg file.

Hello,

There have been many past issues reported with XGCONF. What host OS are you using? Can you share your project with the cfg file? You can remove the rest of the source, I just need the project metadata and the cfg to take a look.

Hello,

The Host OS is an Ubuntu 20.04 Virtual Machine which runs on a Windows 10 host.

How do I share the project here? I see an option to insert a file, but I am unable to attach a zipped folder. Is there any email address I can send the project to ?

I was able to reproduce the issue on my Ubuntu 20.04 machine with CCS 11.2 and 12.0. No issues on Windows.

CCS 10.4 seems to work fine though

Note that XGCONF has been deprecated in support (hence why it is no longer the default option when opening *.cfg files). Hence a fix for this may not be in the near future.

If XGCONF is deprecated, what is the other option to open .cfg files if we want to have a UI format of the .cfg file along with the script version like the XGCONF has?

There is none. The expectation is to use the text eitor to view and modify contents of the cfg file.
