This is specific experimental feature applies to the 100M HSR implementation on older AM57x SDKs, not related to planned AM64x HSR switch offload. The AM64x HSR switch offload feature implementation is not directly related to the older approach.

We are not planning to have HSR specific patches for linuxptp from TI together with the switch offload release. In general we are using linuxptp as the example ptp stack, and acknowledge it might not be sufficient for all applications. For example IEEE802.1AS-2020 support is currently missing as well. It can be there are shortcoming in linuxptp with regard to HSR.
