AM623: Whether resources are shared

Part Number: AM623

Hi TI

      1.  I wonder if the resources in Box B below (such as 2xSPI and UART) can be used by A53 in Box A? That is, can the A53 be configured to use up to 5 channels of SPI?

      2. Does AM623 provide Linux adaptation version of unbunt?

      3. Can I get a link to the software version description page of AM623?

  • Hello Rain Wang,

    Thank you for the query.

A53 should be able to access M4F peripherals.

Any one of the cores should use the peripheral at a given time.

Make sure the interrupts are routed as per the required functionality and the required resources including DMA are available. Please Refer device TRM for details.

In case you are considering implementating MCU isolation for safety, the above would not be an option.

  • Hello Rain Wang,

    The below explanation could help.

The MCU domain is mainly for safety applications, in which the MCU domain could enable reset isolation from the MAIN domain, The WKUP is always on even when the MAIN domain is powered off during low power mode.

If the MCU domain doesn't run safety applications, MCU reset isolation won't be enabled, then the MAIN domain can use the MCU domain peripherals, such as the MCU UART.

  • Hello

Got it, thanks for your support
