AM5729: MCASP driver for Burst Mode

Hi Parth,

Yes, I have seen the examples there. However, there is no example that describes burst mode without using DMA. 

Here is a snapshot of my code setting the channel parameters to support burst mode without DMA:

When I try to use the "mcaspCreateChan" function with these settings, the code fails in this function with the error code -10 (EBADARGS).

Any pointers to why this could happen? Can the driver be used for scenarios which don't need DMA?

Another question -  should the fields userLoopJobBuffer and userLoopJobLength be defined only if we are testing a loopback? If yes, how do we provide data for tx/rx where loop back is not being used?

Hi Dimple,

Apologies for long delay in response.
We are not supporting any driver customization on McASP. Please refer to the TRM and use the CSL library for any customization.

Yes, I have been using the CSL for configuring McASP in Burst mode.

Based on your reply, I understand that the driver cannot be used as-is for configuring McASP in the burst mode without using DMA. 

And I can use the driver as-is for configuring McASP in Burst mode with DMA enabled.

Is this understanding correct?
