Expanding DM36x EVM memory to 256MB from 128MB

Out board designer increased the DRAM on our board and has hooked up A13. My question as the software guy is... what needs to be done to get Linux to recognize and use the extra memory? Maybe this should be in the Linux forum but wasn't sure if there were any issues at the chip level than come into play.

So far my research leads me to believe I need to change the CONFIG_NR_DRAM_BANKS in u-boot. The SDRAM Configuration register has an IBANK field that seems like it may need changing. Not sure yet if u-boot configures that based on CONFIG_NR_DRAM_BANKS.

Hi John,

Besides changes in uBoot (davinci_dm368_ipnc.h),
take a look at UBL:
device.h : (DEVICE_DDR2_RAM_SIZE ...)
device.c : (in function : DEVICE_DDR2Init(), set registers depend on your RAM, details are in sprufi2.pdf)
