Hi Dear  Forum members

we are massively using the TMS320DM8148 in several products

the the boot load we are using normally is: SPI --> MMC -->UART  --> EMAC  [BTMODE(4:0) --- 10110]

the boot load files are located at the MMC ( Not on SPI device ) 

Using the BTMODE switches this mode (like in the table 4-1) is successful and fine.

lately we requested to BOOT from external EEPROM.

When setting the switches to : NandI2C --> MMC  -->EMAC   --> UART  [BTMODE(4:0) --- 10101] the system do not respond at all, it even does not boot from the MMC that is available with boot files

please your advice

    Hi Tsfania,

    Do you have the correct set of binaries in the NANDI2C device?

    Typical behavior is if there is if the earlier boot mode is unsuccessful, that is no binaries found, then it goes into the next set of boot modes.

    However, if you have a binary which is incorrect (that it fails to start the boot operation) then the device will not attempt the other boot modes.

    Can you please double check this point?

    Also, I have to mention that the NAND I2C mode may not be tested extensively.

    If you have correct set of binaries for the NANDI2C device please advice

    the device does not attempt the next boot mode even if there is no NANDIC device

    please your help
