Problems in interfacing the DSP with flash memory

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TMS320C6713B

Hi all,

I am doing my project with TMS320C6713B.

I used a Flash to interface with the CE1 space of EMIF, is it right to interface /ARE(pin 79) of the EMIF with the output enable pin(/OE) of the flash? Or I should interface the flash output enable pin with the /AOE of the DSP?

Another question: When I use the FlashBurn to erase the flash, it operate with no fault, but when I program the flash, it indicated that there's something wrong. I am wondering whether it can be considered like this-when the flash be erased with no incorrect dialog box appeared using FlashBurn, so the flash could be programed correctly either? Or at least, the flash could be accessed?

By the way, how could I get the FBTC suitable for TMS320C6713B?

Hooking up a NOR flash is pretty similar to hooking up an SRAM, so you might refer to Figure 3-5 "TMS320C621x/C671x EMIF to 16-bit SRAM (Big Endian) Block Diagram" in the EMIF User Guide.  Hook up /OE to /AOE as is shown in that diagram.

I don't think we can answer this question.  Flashburn is an old tool that we no longer support.  There is a 3rd party that specifically sells and supports an updated version of this Flashburn software if you're interested.  That would likely be your best place to go:
