Is DDR3 compatible with DDR2 or DDR (i.e. I can use DDR2 SDRAM to plug into the DDR3 interface):

As mentioned DDR3 interfaces by default are not backwards compatible to DDR2. There are some devices which support both DDR3 and DDR2 through the same interface but most do not and Keystone (C66x) devices do not support DDR2 via the DDR3 interface.
