TDA4VM: In spl-emmc bootmode, how to load mcu1_1 firmware

Typically mcu R5F works in the lockstep mode, so i really doubt there is any example available in the SDK to load firmware on mcu1_1. Any specific reason you want to run independent firmware on mcu1_1?

     However if you use spl-emmc, things are different.

    2. Same question as Brijesh asked, why would you need split mode on MCU1_1? Usually we run same code with lockstep mode on MCU1_0/1_1. Please pay attention that split mode may have some safety related risks.

    3. You could try to add mcu1_1 in lib/firmware and use spl/u-boot(depend on you) to load mcu1_1 image to 0 address. 

    Hi Brijesh, could you help confrim this?     

    4. The real image is in tispl.bin. What in lib/firmware is kind of a soft link to let u-boot/kernel know that you have a mcu1_1 image.

Hi Sikai,

Not as such, because this is not validated in the release SDK.

uboot configures mcu R5F in lockstep mode (mcu_r5fss0: r5fss@41000000 in arch/arm/dts/k3-j721e-mcu-wakeup.dtsi dtsi file). We would first need to change uboot to configure mcu R5F in split mode (ti,cluster-mode to 0) and then see if it can load mcu1_1 firmware (j7-mcu-r5f0_1-fw from /lib/firmware).
