PROCESSOR-SDK-AM64X: Profinet Siemens RT stack release delay

As per transition note given for Profinet , Ti committed for Siemens Profinet RT stack in end of 2022. Also API migration guide would be available on November 2022(https://e2e.ti.com/support/processors-group/processors/f/processors-forum/1160880/am6442-pre-release-profinet-irt-stack-for-am6442). Now we have a new SDK release with version mcu_plus_sdk_am64x_08_05_00_24. But neither Siemens RT stack example is added, nor API migration guide is added. Let me know new release dates.

Nikhil,

We have the first drop of the new PROFINET RT stack but it needs additional testing and are working through a schedule for when it can be distributed to early adopter customers in the SDK. Will try to provide more info in the next week.

The PROFINET RT schedule looks still to be for the MCU+ SDK 8.6. Which currently looks like April 15th. We can look at providing an earlier drop if you have an TI FAE working with you and are willing to take pre-release SW. If you can ask your FAE to contact us.

Yes. We are not planning on changing the PRU ICSS firmware, the change is solely R5 software and API above the R5. 3rd party or your own PROFINET stacks should not need to adjust to this update in the R5 industrial protocols toolkit full stacks offering.

We are still finalizing the delivery mechanism, but most likely they way will be a MCU+ SDK 8.6 will include PROFINET RT in April 2023.
