Just a few thoughts, first being that Vista and CCS do not always get along well, it is known to work but it is not as well tested in Vista as it is running in Windows XP, there may not be anything you can do about this but all we (as in the applications folks) use is XP.
Typically if you are having random crashes (to the point they are really annoying) you want to make sure you are using the latest CCS service release, and the latest version of your emulation drivers (from your emulator manufacturer), the software is being updated regularly and bugs are fixed every day.
I also find that some actions can make a crash more likely than others, like having a view memory window open to a large space, particularly while working with a slower emulator, usually when I lock up it is while I am looking at masses of data through CCS or I am looking at something that may not exist (reserved locations and such). I have also seen crashes related to the types of files you open in CCS, particularly if you open text files (c, cmd, asm, etc) that were last touched by a Linux/Unix machine, sometimes the CCS editor can get confused by the differing carriage returns and control characters that may be in the text. I am sure there are other odd situations out there but these are some of the more common I have come across, hopefully a version update can help lessen the issues.
What is the target DSP (CCSetup) that is being used? And CCStudio revision + SR level?
As someone who tests Windows device drivers on Vista x86 and Vista x64, I am curious to try and reproduce it.
