TDA4VM: Qestions about customized Model

Hello Champs,

Customer has two questions about TDA4VM.

1. He is running his own model on TDA4VM board. How to show the result on PC desktop screen?

2. Can edgeai-benchmark only build ModelZoo model? Can it build customized object detection which is different from modelzoo model?

Hi Shine,

To answer the customer questions:

1. We have example applications that are based on GStreamer in our Edge AI SDK which I recommend the customer to reference for getting a full flow application going from input, inferencing, and to output: https://software-dl.ti.com/jacinto7/esd/processor-sdk-linux-sk-tda4vm/08_05_00/exports/docs/sdk_overview.html.

2. Custom models can also be used with edgeai-benchmark by following the instructions documented here: https://github.com/TexasInstruments/edgeai-benchmark#compiling-custom-models. I would recommend customers to also read the following documentation in our SDK that talks about the different tools for models available: https://software-dl.ti.com/jacinto7/esd/processor-sdk-linux-sk-tda4vm/08_05_00/exports/docs/inference_models.html

Is there document about how to call the camera and process the result to show on the display?

And we have an example that is partially GStreamer based, in which we use a GStreamer plugin called appsink/appsrc to make just the inference portion of the pipeline to a Python (or C++) application: https://software-dl.ti.com/jacinto7/esd/processor-sdk-linux-sk-tda4vm/08_05_00/exports/docs/running_simple_demos.html
