AM625: PDN target impedance values

Part Number: AM625

Hi,

My customer wants to know PDN target impedance values for AM62x devices.
According to below document, impedance values (mOhm) are provided only for AM57x devices, but not for AM62x.

Where can I find target impedance values?

Thanks and regards,

  • Hello Koichiro Tashiro

    Thank you for the query.

Please note that we do not provide target impedance values as requested and refer the below inputs from the team.

The value for target impedance not something that we have available as again it is use case specific. If you refer to the PDN app note (https://www.ti.com/lit/an/sprac76e/sprac76e.pdf), you can see the formula for target impedance includes reference to the max current on the rail:

We do not have this information available as this will be dependent on use case.

AM62 has too many use cases to scale a similar approach covering all customer implementations. We provide targets in the PDN app note and via EVM PDN as reference that are typically very safe and over engineered, but not necessarily ideal when trying to reduce BOM. It falls to the customer to be able to simulate and come up with an appropriate PDN design for their use case leveraging the PDN app note and EVM as reference.

We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause.

    Regards,

    Sreenivasa
