drivers/.ccs for 510

hello all

i purchased a USB XDS510 TI DSP JTAG TMS320 Emulator Programmer from an online vendor

http://cgi.ebay.com/USB-XDS510-TI-DSP-JTAG-TMS320-Emulator-Programmer-NEW_W0QQitemZ220340316310QQcmdZViewItemQQptZLH_DefaultDomain_0?hash=item220340316310&_trksid=p3286.c0.m14&_trkparms=72%3A570%7C66%3A2%7C65%3A12%7C39%3A1%7C240%3A1318%7C301%3A1%7C293%3A1%7C294%3A50

and i am trying to set it up to work with a c6424 but the cd it came with does not have driver/.ccs to support the emulator with a c6424

where can i find the needed files

i was told that tis emulator is based on the other TI emultors and i should use the latest TI drivers.ccs files for the 510....link?

advise?

    Hi Denis,

The only emulators we use and test are from Spectrum Digital and Blackhawk. We have never seen the one on the link, so we can not really help you.

You can only contact the person that sold you and ask for the information. I can assure you that this is not a product made by TI.

Usually the manufaturer provides the drivers for the emulators. For example, you can fund drivers for Sectrum are at: http://support.spectrumdigital.com/.

  • Mariana is correct, usually we suggest avoiding such super low cost emulators as they often have compatibility, stability, and speed issues, I typically suggest the Spectrum Digital or BlackHawk models.

I also wanted to mention that the item

l          One DVD ROM with CCS3.3 full-featured version.

shown on the eBay listing sounds very shady, particularly for the $150 cost, considering the full version of CCS 3.3 retails for $3595.18. Which tells me this comes with either the time limited evaluation version or is not a legitimate copy (i.e. pirated).

  • understood...

another question, where would i find the lastest emulation drivers for a TI made XDS510 ™

TI has not manufactured an XDS510 class emulator for years (the TI model used an ISA interface), and the TI XDS560 emulator (PCI based) has since moved to Blackhawk, TI never had a USB based XDS510. The latest drivers for the TI emulators would be included with CCS itself, or with CCS service releases from the upate advisor site under the help menu of CCS.
