I heard about the availability in the next future of the GNU tool chain (compiler, linker, ...) for the DSP C642x (in particular, I'm interested in the C6424). Any news about that? Is it a real possibility or just rumors?
It is a very important issue for safety critical application based on a two-out-of-two redundant architecture, where each architecture (same HW) is supposed to have a 'different' software, and where 'different' usually means a different compiler. That is the reason, at least for those application, to have the support of both Code Composer and GNU for the same DSP.
