Hi,

I am looking for a DSP with a ethernet MAC with 10/100 speed and for a medium performance DSP.
Can you suggest the DSP's for these application?
Does the DSP with Ethernet MAC has a fixed MAC address or the designer must buy the MAC Address from IEEE?

I have seen the tms320c6748 features and it doesn't have MII Interface, but only MDIO interface.

I need a MAC Controller with MII Interface and I also need to know about the MAC Address, whether the MAC Controller comes with a pre-programmed MAC Address or the designer must buy the MAC Address from IEEE.

C6748 does have a MII interface(even a RMII interface), along with the MDIO interface. You will need a PHY part to interface between the C6748 and the Ethernet jack. Example PHY part would be National DP83848M.

You will also need to purchase MAC addresses from the IEEE Standards Assc (http://standards.ieee.org/develop/regauth/oui/index.html)

Finally, you will need a TCP/IP stack. TI has a free stack (called the NDK).

Actually the C6748 supports MII and RMII interfaces. However the controller does not come programmed with a MAC address.
