AM6442: Difference between E and F versions

Part Number: AM6442

Hi Team,

Could you tell us what is the difference between Feature E and F?

E = D + EtherCAT and CAN-FD support

F = E? + pre-integrated comm stack

 What is the pre-integrated comm stack? Is this the PRU firmware which is doing the frame processing of the EtherCAT frames and ESC emulation (Ethercat Slave Controller emulation)?

Can we work with the E version instead of the F version?

We now always build the code using these sources in SDK :

  • beckhoff stack code generated by SSC tool is inserted in the stack_sources directory,
  • icss_fwhal binary code is loaded into the PRU by the R5F code (I assume),

 What is the difference really between E and F version?

Thanks for your inputs!

Best Regards,

Madhurya
