DRA829V: USB Driver

Part Number: DRA829V

Hi Team,

My customer is moving from PDK 7.00.00 to PDK 08.04.00.21. They noticed that the USB driver sample code at C:\ti\pdk_jacinto_07_00_00\packages\ti\drv\usb has been deleted. They have plans to implement USB 2.0, type-C and are thinking of using the USB driver in v.7.00.00 as a reference.

Also, they have the following questions regarding this.

  • Is it ok to use the USB driver from v.7.00.00?
  • Is there a reason why USB driver support was deleted? Should they use the Linux Driver instead of the RTOS driver?
  • If it is ok to use the v.7.00.00 USB driver in PDK v.8, What adjustments do they need to make?
  • Are there any plans to re-implement the USB driver?

Best regards,

Mari

  • Hi Mari,

We do not have UDB driver in the latest SDKs and there is no plans to implement this in the future as well.

Is it ok to use the USB driver from v.7.00.00?

It's not recommended, as there is no support available for this. If they are planning to use, we won't be able to provide support for this. The recommendation is to use USB and PCIe from Linux.

    Regards,
