SK-TDA4VM: Display interface support

Part Number: SK-TDA4VM

Hello Ti,

Does sk-tda4vm support the mipi-dsi display lcd?

If not, is there any other display interface supported by sk-tda4vm?(the DP and HDMI are known display interface)

BR

James

  • Hi James,

The SK-TDA4VM does not have the MIPI-DSI interface pinned out, so DP and HDMI are the two display interfaces that are supported on that board.

If wanting to develop using a DSI display, I would recommend buying the superset evaluation board for the same processor, the J721E EVM: https://www.ti.com/tool/J721EXSOMXEVM. It is much more expensive than the SK board, but it has much more of the processor's pins broken out, including DSI. Otherwise, using a DP or HDMI display is the recommendation with SK board.

  • Hi Takuma,

Is it possible to use the connector to achieve hdmi 2 dsi?

  • Hi James,

Apologies for the late reply. We have never tried this out on SK-TDA4VM, so we do not have a recommendation for a connector. However, to give a similar example that we have tried in the past, J721E EVM only has DP connectors without additional daughter cards. When we wanted to connect HDMI, we have used an active DP to HDMI adapter.

I would imagine a similar active adapter between HDMI and DSI would be needed if trying to connect HDMI to a DSI display.
