Hi,expert:

     the TDA4VM SDK  we use is 7.3 

     we have some issue about the port6 connect with rgmii phy, the force link 100M we the setup 

     the cpsw9g port6 tx seems good ,but the port0 cant receive the data forward from the port6 ,and the port6 rx maybe error 

     the other port is normally

    Hi,

    When CPSW encounters RXBOTTOMOFFIFODROP error, the particular port, Port 6 in your case, will stop forwarding packets to other ports including the host port.

    Other ports will still function normally and packets can still be transmitted out of Port 6 to external connection.

    However, to clear RXBOTTOMOFFIFODROP error and return Port 6 to normal, CPSW reset is required.

    Currently, EthFW doesn't support resetting CPSW so the system reset is required to clear the error.

    1: what's rearlly reason  about RXBOTTOMOFFIFODROP  its ALE Forwarding error ?   

    2: the system reset can not be accept by our customer, Plz If there is another operrations about  cpsw reset,or how about clear the error fifo ?

    Hi,

    Please find the feedback for HW schematic review as follows.

    We don't see anything critical in the PCB file that would specifically cause EMI issue.  We have identified some items that are not optimal, and could be improved.

    (1) Near the PHY, there are lots of R-options which create small via and stub nets.  This can impact signal integrity in some cases.  we assume these are used for strapping options for the PHY.  Minimize any stub nets and via by routing though resistor(s).

    (2) Additional GND vias could be added near signal vias.  To keep the return loop small, GND vias should be near all signals vias for high speed signals.  This can impact signal integrity is some cases.

    (3) Series resistors near processor should not be needed as IO are turned to 50-ohms.  RGMII traces should also be designed to be close to 50-ohms.

    (4) Traces are routed on layers 8 and layers 10.  Traces on layer 10 reference solid GND planes on layers 9,11.  Traces on layer 8 reference solid GND on layer 8, but reference split power plane on layer 7.  The design provided is incomplete on Layer 7, but appears traces may cross split power.   This can impact signal integrity in some cases.
