CCS V5.5 Internal compilation error for OMAPL137 ARM UBL

Hi,

Instructions in the wiki link apply to the UBL source code which is downloaded from http://software-dl.ti.com/dsps/dsps_public_sw/psp/LinuxPSP/DaVinci_03_20/03_20_00_14/index_FDS.html. Please use the UBL CCS project from this package.

1. From the menus, choose Project->Build. When the build is complete:
   • The Intel hex format binary (ubl-xxx.bin) file is generated in the Project Root directory.
   • The executable ELF binary (ubl-xxx.out) file is generated in the Project Root directory.
   • The Project Root directory is <armubl-install-dir>\ccsv3.3\

Jitendra says that he is not seeing the .bin file created.

Jitendra, what is the hex file youa re talking about. It is ubl...bin correct? And you are not seeing it???

Please share the error and screen shots where relevant.

Hello Mr Sudhakar,

My end board will contain AM1705 CPU.

So before moving on to AM1705 CPU, I am trying to compile ARM UBL & DSP UBL for EVM OMAPL137.

But ARM UBL provided by DaVinci-PSP-SDK-03.20.00.12 is giving internal ccs error when I tried to compile it.

So i download a another ARM UBL & DSP UBL from the link given below

The  ARM UBL & DSP UBL given in the above link compiles properly without any error but the UBL is not working on the EVM OMAPL137 bpard.

So I shifted back to  DaVinci-PSP-SDK-03.20.00.12 ARM , DSP UBL & after tried recompiling the UBL again & this time it compiled properly. But sometimes it gives the CCS error. I have attached the screen shot of the error

But  the ARM UBL in DaVinci-PSP-SDK-03.20.00.12 contains DSP disable function which is not required for AM1705.

Can you tell me what all other changes are required for the ARM UBL for AM1705

Hi Jitendra,

PSP releases are tested on AM17x platform as well, so the release package you are having should work on AM1705. As you already know, one major difference between OMAP-L137 and AM17x is the use of DSP UBL. In case of OMAP-L137, there is a need for DSP AIS image and ARM UBL binary image, but for AM17x, ARM UBL AIS image should be used. Please see http://processors.wiki.ti.com/index.php/GSG:_Building_Software_Components_for_OMAP-L1#For_OMAP-L137_.28or_DA830.2C_AM17xx.29 for steps to generate the ARM UBL AIS file, suitable for AM17x platform.
