We are using the MT9P031 sensor. We adjust the vertical blanking register to control our frame rate. According to the documentation the max vertical blanking is 0x7ff. When we go above 0x5B5 (this number equated to 14 frames) we get a long pause of 10 to 20 seconds of no frames being input from the sensor. The sensor eventually does give the correct output. Every step down in frame rate under 14 fps will result in the pause. A step up is OK.
