DM8168: SDK for Video Security Daughter Card

Hi all,

I am using a DM8168 EVM with a video security daughter card (the one
with 16 video/audio inputs).
If I am  not wrong, the last usable SDK is ti-ezsdk_5_0_0_11 so I
can't use ti-ezsdk_dm816x-evm_5_01_01_80.

Am I right? I am especially interested in the vs demo.

Thanks
  • Yes, you are right.

  • Hi Dario!

    thanks for your replay.

    Have a good day

  • Hi, could you give me a hint concerning this "video security daughter card" for DM8168 - what makes the difference to the "Expansion I/O Daughtercard" delivered with current DM8168 EVMs? Thanks in advance!

By the way, for an older DM8168 EVM (one without daughterboard and for DDR2 only) I could use the most current EZSDK 5_01_01_80. Because of the DDR2 some U-Boot settings must be changed, and U-Boot must be rebuilt, for this part see ezsdk/psp/docs/TI816X-PSP-04.00.00.10-U-Boot.pdf or, somewhat better, the chapter "How to setup the EZ SDK for DDR2 EVMs" within the developers guide (ezsdk/docs).

And because this our old board didn't have any daughter card, I had to install EZSDK without some video components (else there came some assumptions about the daughter card within the boot process).

But I would be interested to know if actually the most current EZSDK cannot be used (also not after some little changes) if my older DM8168 would have a video daughter card by TI? That would mean, that we bought our older board only for some first, central development, and that in near future only our newest DM8168 EVM will be of any use for us... :-(
