DM8148 EVM enabling HDMI video

I am using the Mistral DM8148 EVM and PSP version 5.00.00.26.  It appears that HDMI video does not default to enabled as I would have expected.   How do I enable it?  I want it to run in 720p60 mode.  Can this be done using a boot command or do I need to recompile the kernel?

Thanks,

Kurt

  • Hi,

By default HDMI is not a part of uImage. You need to insert the hdmi module pacakge with the release to enable/start the HDMI. You can refer to the HDMI userGuide. Image can be rendered on HDMI using the framebuffer driver. UserGuide of HDMI as well as Framebuffer can be found at

    TI816X-LINUX-PSP-04.01.00.xx\docs\TI816x_HDMI_Driver_User_Guide.pdf and TI816X-LINUX-PSP-04.00.00.xx\docs\VPSS_Video_Driver_UserGuide.pdf
