DRA821U: PCIe testing capability on DRA821 side

Part Number: DRA821U
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: DRA821,

I am using DRA821u on a mezannine board which has PCIe interface. What testing capability does DRA821 has for PCIe? Can it do eye measurement or error bit rate tracking? What will TI recommend for testing PCIe link on DRA821?

  • Syed,

There are some eye diagram measuring functions in the SERDES, you can refer to RX_EYESURF_CTRL registers to give a try. But we have not used them, since we do comprehenvice electrical compliance testing in lab environment as part of device characterization.

Also PCIe controller can force the endpoint to compliance mode, using the PCIE_CORE_PFn_I_LINK_CTRL_STATUS_2[EC] bit. you can give it a try.

    regards
