The Communications Port Programming Interface (CPPI) module is used for message passing and is used by both the SRIO and the EMAC. For more information on the function of CPPI and the buffers please read the sections on CPPI in the EMAC user's guide, section 2.6 and the section on message passing, section 2.3.4, of the SRIO user's guide.
