AM3359: Executable file on linux

Hi TI Support Team,

I'm working on ICEAM3359 using RTOS.

I have successfully loaded the LED blinking baremetal program. After build process, I got the.out file in binaries (in CCS).

Can I use this .out file on Linux? If so, please tell me where and how I can use it.

Hello Priyadharshini,

I am not clear on what you are asking for. I see you mention RTOS, bare metal, and Linux.

Please clarify:

1) what OS are you running on the AM335x ARM core?

2) Is the .out file supposed to run on the ARM core? Or are you doing something else, like generating a .out file to run on a PRU core?

3) What OS is running on your development computer that is connected to the AM335x EVM?

Sorry for the inconvenience.

I'm working on ICEAM3359 using SDK-Linux. (Version: 08.02.00.24)

Ubuntu 18.04.6 LTS

My questions are,

1) How to create a simple GPIO project using Linux?

2) How to generate an.out file for a GPIO project on Linux?

3) Is it necessary to use an.out file in Linux? If so, where and how do I use an.out file on Linux?

Hello Priyadharshini,

Ok, so it sounds like you are asking for guidance on writing a Linux userspace application for using GPIO pins?

We have created a Linux Academy for one of our later devices (am62x). Some of the steps will be different for you on AM335x, but the documentation may still be helpful:
