SK-TDA4VM: error for EdgeAI TIDL Tools

Hello Ti,

I follow the source https://github.com/TexasInstruments/edgeai-tidl-tools to build docker on X86_PC.

When I run docker and use the command "source ./setup.sh", there are error message:

WARNING: Running pip as the 'root' user can result in broken permissions and conflicting behaviour with the system package manager. It is recommended to use a virtual environment instead: https://pip.pypa.io/warnings/venv

Therefore, I cannot build the tool and compile on X86_PC to validate.

How to debug the error?

Hi James,

So far, we have not been able to reproduce the issue on our end, but could you share details about your software set up?

Are the commands being ran inside a docker container?
If the commands are not being ran inside a docker container, what is the OS?
Which version of edgeai-tidl-tools is being built? Is this the default master branch, or a certain tag was checked out?
Can you share the complete logs until you get to "source ./setup.sh" so that we can understand if there was an issue in a previous step?

Hi Takuma,

The commands are run in docker container andedgeai-tidl-tool is the default master branch.

The following are the complete logs that used in terminal:

git clone github.com/.../edgeai-tidl-tools.git
cd edgeai-tidl-toolsexport SOC=am68pa
export TIDL_TOOLS_PATH=$(pwd)/tidl_tools
export LD_LIBRARY_PATH=$LD_LIBRARY_PATH:$TIDL_TOOLS_PATH
export ARM64_GCC_PATH=$(pwd)/gcc-arm-9.2-2019.12-x86_64-aarch64-none-linux-gnu

source ./setup.sh

Hi James,

Could you try the following:

Within edgeai-tidl-tools folder, run "git checkout 08_06_00_05" to check out the 8.6 release.
Rebuild the Docker image with the suggestion in the other E2E thread: https://e2e.ti.com/support/processors-group/processors/f/processors-forum/1203759/sk-tda4vm-building-error-in-docker

Otherwise, I do not see any other things that could be of issue. Please let me know how it goes.
