AM625: No response after downloading tiboot3 using uart0

Part Number: AM625

Hi,

SDK:ti-processor-sdk-linux-am62xx-evm-08.03.00.19

Custom board

Customer wants to boot from uart, uart prints 01000000011a0000616d36327800000000000000475020200100010001000100CCCCCCCCCCCCCC"
Then use SecureCRT's xmodem to transmit the prebuild image tiboot3:

Starting xmodem transfer.  Press Ctrl+C to cancel.
Transferring tiboot3.bin...
  100%     327 KB       7 KB/sec    00:00:45       0 Errors

After waiting for a few minutes, the following appears again:

01000000011a0000616d36327800000000000000475020200100010001000100CCCCCCCCCCCCCC

If using the tiboot3 compiled by himself:
Starting xmodem transfer. Press Ctrl+C to cancel.
Transferring tiboot3.bin...
100% 327 KB 7 KB/sec 00:00:45 0 Errors
After that, the uart has no output

Tispl.bin unable to download. Please help check.

  • Hello,
I'm attaching the working boot log I captured from UART boot on AM62x-SK using AM62x Linux SDK.
From the issue description, there seems a lockup when RBL booting r5-spl from UART on the customer board.
I'd expect the customer needs to port/modify u-boot in order to boot on the customer board.
    Best,
    -Hong

  • Hi,

Previously, due to hardware design problems, the VPP pin was not floating, and it was always powered on with a 1.8v power supply. Now, after disconnecting, we boot from uart and the uart keeps printing:

After the xmodem is downloaded, the board still reboots. The vpp was connected to 1.8v before, will it damage the hardware?

Do we know the customer made u-boot changs in order to boot the customer board?
