TDA4VM: Boot uboot from EMMC fail

Hi, experts ,

I refer to FAQ] PROCESSOR-SDK-DRA8X-TDA4X: Boot uboot from EMMC - Processors forum - Processors - TI E2E support forums write the images to eMMC(SDK 08_04_00) , but some errors occurred. Details are as

follows,Please help me analyze the reason,thanks!

U-Boot SPL 2021.01 (Feb 02 2023 - 15:20:52 +0800)
Model: Texas Instruments K3 J721E SoC
SYSFW ABI: 3.1 (firmware rev 0x0008 '8.4.1--v08.04.01 (Jolly Jellyfi')
Trying to boot from MMC1
mmc_load_image_raw_sector: mmc block read error
** Partition 1 not valid on device 0 **
spl_register_fat_device: fat register err - -1
spl_load_image_fat: error reading image tispl.bin, err - -1
spl: no partition table found
SPL: failed to boot from all boot devices
### ERROR ### Please RESET the board ###

It is a custom board or a TI evm ?

Which.sdk you are using?

Can you boot upto linux , are you able to access the boot partition in the Linux?

Boot with SD card, I can access the Linux shell and then access the boot partitions of the SD card and emmc.

Can you follow these steps and check.

# Run the below from u-boot prompt

# Write partition table to eMMC

setenv mmcdev 0

gpt write mmc 0 ${partitions}

mmc partconf 0 1 1 1

mmc bootbus 0 2 0 0

=> mmc dev 0 1

=> fatload mmc 1 ${loadaddr} tiboot3.bin

=> mmc write ${loadaddr} 0x0 0x400

=> fatload mmc 1 ${loadaddr} tispl.bin

=> mmc write ${loadaddr} 0x400 0x1000

=> fatload mmc 1 ${loadaddr} u-boot.img

=> mmc write ${loadaddr} 0x1400 0x2000

=> fatload mmc 1 ${loadaddr} sysfw.itb

=> mmc write ${loadaddr} 0x3600 0x800

=> saveenv 

change the boot switch setting to emmc and boot

I found that when using a fan to dissipate heat on the board, it is possible to start from the EMMC.
What is the reason? Is the EMMC signal not very good?

It may be the case ,

Which emmc part you are using ?

As it does't seems to be software issue let me involve HW engineer as well .

Thanks！This is very strange. Both the uboot shell and the Linux shell read and write EMMC normally. I even compared the target file exported from EMMC with the original binary file, and they are consistent

Sorry for the confusion i am asking which part no. you are using (micron sandisk samsung ....etc).

Can you check the signal integrity when you are seeing this issue ?
