J721EXCPXEVM: J721EXCP01EVM

Part Number: J721EXCPXEVM

Hi all,

I would appreciate any help.

I have a J721EXCP01EVM board, and last week after we have experienced a power-out in our office. the board started to make some buzz noises once it powered ON.

it seems like the board itself is working, but I fear that it can cause (or maybe already there is) some electrical shorting issue within the board.

Thank you in advance.

  • Difficult to say if anything is broken without probing the board. If the board is working for you - its likely OK.  'Buzzing' typically comes from a switching power supply/regulator.

  • Hi Robert,
    Thank you for your comment.
I double checked the "Buzzing" sound comes from the board itself.. not the power supply.
Regarding the question if the board works or not, frankly we do not know, we unplugged and placed aside the board once the issue happened.

I would really appreciate if could (with TI help, or via your labs) check with probing that the board is OK. and perhaps fix the issues it got.

  • Yes - I was referring to a power supply on the EVM (that was 'buzzing', not external supply for the EVM.

TI does not offer fix of EVM via our labs, but I can help answer questions.  At this point, its not clear if the EVM has an issue.  Have you verified your application can correctly operate on the EVM?  If not, please test.

  • Hi Alex,

It appears that you may not be using this board anymore, correct?

Do you still need any assistance with this ticket, or can I consider this closed?

    regards

    Suman
