Hello James,
We do not enable pyqt5 as part of our SDK and our qt packages are simply inherited from the following recipe: https://github.com/meta-qt5/meta-qt5/tree/dunfell. I see a recipe for pyqt5 and my recommendation would be to try enabling it through Yocto: https://github.com/meta-qt5/meta-qt5/blob/dunfell/recipes-python/pyqt5/python3-pyqt5_5.15.1.bb.

Hi Krunal,
In python3-pyqt5_5.15.1.bb, how to make sure that I have enabled pyqt5?
I have seen the meta-qt in the bitbake layer, but how to know if the recipe is enabled or disabled?
BR
James
Hi James,
In Yocto conf, you could try to do something like this "echo 'IMAGE_INSTALL_append = " pyqt5"' >> conf/local.conf".

Hi Krunal,
I run the python file on bash and it appears following message:
qt.qpa.wayland: "wl-shell" is a deprecated shell extension, prefer using "xdg-shell-v6" or "xdg-shell" if supported by the compositor by setting the environment variable QT_WAYLAND_SHELL_INTEGRATION
qt. qpa. wayland: xkbcommon not available on this build, not performing key mapping
Where should I set the variable "QT_WAYLAND_SHELL_INTEGRATION" to eliminate the error?
BR
James
Hi James,
I believe that above is only a warning and not an error. In general, you can do something like the following "export QT_WAYLAND_SHELL_INTEGRATION=<var>".

Krunal
Hi Krunal,
Even if I ignore "QT_WAYLAND_SHELL_INTEGRATION", the message "qt. qpa. wayland: xkbcommon not available on this build, not performing key mapping" still exists.
Because the GUI has the widget "QLineEdit", I cannot type the word on the edit bar.
When I try to click the edit widget, the terminal appears the error "qt. qpa. wayland: xkbcommon not available on this build, not performing key mapping".

Hi James,
Have you checked with the qt forum for similar issue? Also, maybe it's missing a Yocto package such as "xkbcommon" and we do not support X11 so maybe that library is missing. My recommendation would be to check with the Qt community on the dependencies.

Krunal
