AM5728: Support for Android SDK for AM5728

Part Number: AM5728

We have a custom board based on AM5728. It uses Camera Omnivision OV5670 and Audiocodec TI3262 to implement the required functionality on board.

1. For one of our customers, there is a requirement of Android . As from the SDK pages of AM5728, Android release is seen in SDK6.03.

2. Does TI support Android on this SOC ? Which camera is supported ?Are the above devices supported ?

3. Is there a newer version of Android in the pipeline ?

Kindly share insights on this.

    Hello Himani,

    1. Yes, Android was previously supported on SDK 6.03 but was de-scoped on the following release 8.02.
    2. Since it has been de-scoped, it is available in as-is state and we do not support it any longer. Based on these threads: one and two, there is no support for camera modules in Android SDK on TI side.
    3. There is currently no plans for future Android SDK releases.
