AM1806 - VP_CLKIN for Picture input

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: AM1806

-1- Is it must use VP_CLKOUT0 or VP_CLKOUT1 clock(: clock input to VP_CLKIN0 or VP_CLKIN1 pin)

to use VPIF for Capture BT656 VGA Format?

-2- Does AM1806 have the Clock Buffer between VP_CLKOUT and VP_CLKIN inside?

-3- Where is the AM1806 pin of PCLK(Pixel clock) from VGA camera Sensor input?

  • H.ro,

I am not sure if I've understood what you are asking here... Please phrase your question as clearly as you can. Please use the user guide as your referenece. http://focus.ti.com/lit/ug/sprufw7a/sprufw7a.pdf

    1. If you are capturing 8-bit BT656 signal, you only need either CLKIN0 or CLKIN1 depending on which input channel you are using. There isn't CLKOUT0 or CLKOUT1 when VPIF is capturing. You DO need a input clock during capturing, along with data w/ embedded sync.

    2. Are you talking about CLKIN2/3 and CLKOUT2/3 on AM1806 VPIF?

    3. Please clarify this question.

  • Thanks, Paul
    I'm gonna read sprufw7a.pdf.

    1. I'd like to capture 8-bit BT656 signal, I understood that I only need either CLKIN0 or CLKIN1.
    Thanks

    2. I'm talking about CLKIN2/3 and CLKOUT2/3 on AM1806 VPIF.
If I send Camera Master CLK from CLKOUT of AM1806, CLKOUT have Buffer.
So I think CLKOUT2/3 have Buffer like CLKOUT.
    Is it correct?
    [AM1806 inside]
CLKOUT - Buffer - MUX - OSCOUT -> to Crystal

    3. I knew the answer why I understood No.1 Quetion.
(Camera Pixel CLK output only input it into PCLK of AM1806)
