AM3358: G_serial.ko file gives inmod error .

hi?

We are using the AM3358 (Linux 4.1.18)

there is one problem, so I have a question.

We have good use of the gadget g_printer (USB).

We want to set additional g_serial (USB) additionally.

But when I try to insmod g_serial.ko

insmod: ERROR: could not insert module g_serial.ko: No such device

The same error occurs.

I set it like below.

1. kernel config

2. DTS file

3. error

What part do I need to add to make it work normally?

please answer about my question.

Hi Gihwan,

Do you mean you can "insmod g_printer.ko", but not "insmod g_serial.ko"?

I captured the output by running 8726.chkusb.sh.txt.

and Yes, that's right.
Currently, g_printer.ko is working well.
And other files besides g_serial.ko insmode works fine.

However, an error occurs saying that only g_serial.ko file does not exist.
Any advice please?

Hi Gihwan,

Please use command 'modprobe g_serial' instead of 'insmod g_serial.ko' to load the USB gadget driver.

Hi Gihwan,

The USB kernel driver modules should be under

'/lib/modules/`uname -r`/kernel/drivers/usb/gadget/legacy/',

not directly under '/lib/modules/'.

Did you manually copy over the *.ko to your rootfs? You should use 'make modules_install ...' command to install the kernel modules to your rootfs.

With your help, I was able to insmod g_serial.ok and
I checked up to ttygs0.
The problem was caused by a mismatch between the file location and the DTS revision.
