TDA4VM: Steps to Enable the 88Q4364 PHY

Hi,

We are using 88Q6113 10G Switch and 88Q4364 PHY. One end of the switch is connected to A72(Linux based host processor) through PCIe and MDIO bus and other end to PHY. Now we need to enable PHY. Can you please tell us the steps to follow in order to enable the PHY?

Hi Vikram,

Is the phy also connected to the SoC via MDIO, or the MDIO of the phy are through Switch. I won't be able to help you in the later case.

Hi Vikram,

So in this case, wouldn't the switch/switch-driver configure the phy. Correct me if I am wrong, but I don't think the SoC plays a role in this from hardware perspective. From software perspective, the switch and phy should be configured in device-tree. The configurations are phy/switch dependent.
